Dr. Kelly Owens was born in Kenner, Louisiana, and grew up between Mandeville and Metairie, Louisiana. She graduated high school from Mt. Carmel Academy, and she attended Louisiana State University, where she earned her bachelor’s in Animal Science with a concentration in science and technologies. She graduated from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine with a focus in small animal medicine in May 2022. During her time in vet school, she worked as an assistant at Chateau Veterinary Hospital, which inspired her to complete her externships and preceptorship here with us! Dr. Kelly Owens is our newest Fear Free Certified doctor, and her special interests include ophthalmology, dermatology, ultrasonography, internal medicine, and behavior.
Dr. Kelly Owens has three dogs: a rescued lab (Sam), a Skye Terrier (Minnie), and a Havanese (Rex), as well as two rescued Lynx Point Siamese cats, Strudel and Pumpkin. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends, family, and fur babies, cooking new recipes, doing D.I.Y. projects, and staying active!
