At Chateau Veterinary Hospital, we are big believers in dental care for pets. We’ve seen first-hand what happens when a pet’s teeth don’t get regular care, and it’s not just about bad breath: lack of dental care often results in gum infection and inflammation, tooth decay and loss, the inability to eat, and pain. Bacteria from periodontal disease can also eventually travel into your pet’s bloodstream and cause other serious health problems.
That’s why we offer complete pet oral health services, including:
- Dental exams
- Annual dental cleanings
- Dental X-rays
- Extractions
As a Fear Free certified hospital and following American Veterinary Medical Association guidelines, Chateau Veterinary Hospital only does cleanings and dental work on anesthetized pets. To ensure your pet is healthy enough to undergo anesthesia, we do require a routine blood test before the procedure, and your pet will be fully monitored during the process and recovery.
Preventive Dental Care
Brushing your pet’s teeth several times per week is the best way to prevent plaque and tartar build-up. Interested in learning how to brush your pet’s teeth? Just ask and our veterinarians will be happy to help you get started. If you have a pet that won’t tolerate brushing, our veterinarians can also recommend products that will help keep your pet’s mouth healthy in between cleanings.
