Surgery is often the most effective way to treat many serious injuries and disorders, and Chateau Veterinary Hospital is proud to offer state-of-the-art facilities and equipment as well as skilled and experienced doctors and technicians. Every precaution is taken for your pet’s safety, health and comfort. We offer a variety of soft-tissue surgeries from routine spay/neuters to more advanced operations.
Surgery and other procedures such as dental cleanings require anesthesia, and we understand that all pets have individual needs in this area. There are always risks associated with anesthesia and we do everything possible to minimize these risks in your dog’s best interest.
As a certified Fear Free practice, you can be comfortable placing your pet in our care because we do not approach anesthesia with a ”one size fits all” mentality. We take into consideration our patients’ age, breed, size (or lack thereof), and procedure.
Some dogs only require sedation while others may need to undergo general anesthesia. For either level of anesthesia, patients will be examined, have pre-operative bloodwork performed and an intravenous catheter in place.
Our complete anesthesia protocol utilizes veterinary specific monitoring equipment and recovery care that includes warming blankets and post-operative monitoring by qualified trained personnel.
It is our team’s goal to send your pet home with all your concerns addressed and with the information you need to properly care for him or her. We understand surgery is a stressful time for any owner, and we’re available every step of the way to answer questions and put your mind at ease.
