Our Hospital is Open With Precautions in Place to Keep You & Your Pets Safe
As we stay current with the Coronavirus pandemic, we have made the decision to limit human interaction within our hospital. With the rising threat of COVID-19 and recent mandates to restrict crowd interaction, we have implemented a new temporary policy to restrict clients from gathering in our lobby. At this time, our hospital remains open and is operating under regular business hours, but with restrictions.
We are now requiring that all pets be picked up at the curb for their appointments and client interactions with our staff will take place via telephone, email or curbside.
In response to the recent and ever-changing recommendations regarding the Coronavirus outbreak, we are offering the following options for the care of your pet:
Curbside Pick-Up For Appointments
Please call us at (504) 684-7681 when you are on your way and a member of our team will meet you curbside or in the parking lot to pick-up your pet, go through the check-in process, and then take your pet inside for their scheduled appointment. We encourage clients to wait in their cars during their pet’s appointment. After dropping off your pet, we will:
Perform a regular exam with your pet and email you a treatment planfor any suggested preventative care services. You will have the opportunity to discuss treatment recommendations with your veterinarian over the phone before approving any services.
Take payment over the phone after services are completed.
Contact you by phone to let you know your pet is ready for pick-up. Our staff will again meet you curbside to drop-off your pet.
Curbside Pick-Up of Food and Medications
If your pet relies on medications or prescriptions diets, we recommend ensuring that you have enough supply to last through at least 2-3 weeks of a possible home quarantine situation. Please call us at (504) 684-7681 to place an order. Note that it may take us 2-3 days to obtain large quantities of food or certain medications, so please plan ahead. We will have you pay over the phone and will bring your receipt and products directly to your car.
Virtual Consultations for Remote Pet Care
To better serve our clients and patients during this time, we will soon offer telemedicine options for our clients which should make it much easier in the future to care for your pet remotely. We are currently in the testing process with this new technology and anticipate launching early next week. In addition to new remote pet care options, with our pet care app, you can also make appointments for your pets, request medication and prescription food refills and even set up vaccination reminders.
