We would like to thank you for your support and understanding during this incredibly difficult and stressful time. We appreciate your patience and cooperation with our COVID-19 protocols, which make it possible for us to stay open and meet the veterinary needs of the pets in our community.
We hear your frustration at some of the things that have changed, like not being able to come into the building. As New Orleans prepares to move into phase three of opening, our medical team has made the difficult decision to continue to operate on a strictly curbside model for the immediate future. We want you to know why we made this decision.
One of our biggest challenges has been how to continue operating as a fully functional hospital while protecting the health of both our team and our community. Our amazing staff continues to work long shifts to care for sick pets with compassion and professionalism while putting themselves at risk. It is imperative that we continue with strict safety protocols to maintain the health and safety of our medical staff as well as our clients. If staff members get sick and have to quarantine, it puts the hospital at risk of having to close entirely.
Complicating safety protocols is that there is only one exam room in the hospital that allows for proper social distancing. The hospital layout simply does not allow for adequate and safe distance between staff and clients.
We are closely monitoring the situation and will make the determination to allow clients back in the building when we believe it’s in the best interest of both staff and clients.
We will continue to offer our full range of services with precautions in place to keep you and your pets safe. Please call us at 504-467-6431 if you have any questions or to make an appointment for your pet. You may wish to visit our website to see our current COVID-19 safety protocols before your next visit.
Thank you for your continued patience as we navigate the challenges of this this pandemic together.
Stay Safe and Stay Well,
The Doctors and Staff at Chateau Veterinary Hospital
We request ALL clients please wear a mask when meeting our staff at the drop-off tent.
Curbside Pick-Up For Appointments
Please call us at 504-467-6431 when you arrive for your appointment
After you confirm your arrival, please meet us under the tent at the check-in table where a member of our team will complete your pet’s check-in and take them inside for their scheduled appointment.
We encourage you to wait in your car outside the hospital during the appointment.
When the exam is performed, your veterinarian will call you with any findings, preventive care recommendations, and/or a treatment plan. You will have the chance to discuss and approve any recommendations and charges, and we will do check-out and payment over the phone.
Curbside Pick-Up of Food and Medications
If your pet relies on medications or prescriptions diets, we recommend ensuring that you have enough supply to last through at least 2-3 weeks of a possible home quarantine situation. Please call us at 504-467-6431 to place an order. Note that it may take us 2-3 days to obtain large quantities of food or certain medications, so please plan ahead. We will have you pay over the phone and will bring your receipt and products directly to your car.
We are here to serve our community and to help your animal companions stay healthy. As you know, pets are wonderful stress-relievers and we want to make sure we do all we can to assist safely during these challenging times.
Please don’t hesitate to call us at 504-467-6431 if you have questions or need assistance for your pet in any way. Thank you for your patience and cooperation while we navigate through this process.
